Fulfillment Progress: Week 1

Most rewards are finished manufacturing, addresses have been locked, and we are swinging into full fulfillment mode. At this point, there isn't much to "update" you on, but we know it can be frustrating to sit and wait in the dark, wondering where your rewards are, and what is going on during the process of fulfillment. To provide some insight into the process of fulfilling a Kickstarter, this is the first in a series of updates that will follow the member of our team who is integral to making sure your rewards are delivered on time:

Meet Lilly.

This is Lilly, and she is our director of quality assurance and fulfillment workflow manager. She has over 4 years of experience playing with cardboard boxes, so she says she feels extremely qualified for this important job. 

This has been a big week for Lilly. Several pallets of boxes arrived in her warehouse as we were locking addresses. Her first big job was to catalogue all physical items as they arrived, and make sure they were packaged and stored properly to maximize efficiency in the days ahead.

The next step was obviously to crack the boxes open and see what was inside! Part of Lilly's job is carefully inspecting products as they arrive to make sure nothing has been damaged in transit from the manufacturer.

Once she has confirmed that the products are not damaged, Lilly takes a few moments to review the inside pages to check for any typos or plot holes. 

What's Next?

Now that addresses have been locked, Lilly is going to create a master spreadsheet to process shipping fees and to divide shipments into "batches." Basically, similar orders will be grouped together so that they can be packaged and shipped out in bulk. 

The first batch is scheduled to begin the packaging process tomorrow, and packages will begin shipping out in waves by the end of this week. Time to Lock Addresses

The rewards have started arriving, and our fulfillment team is excited to start getting packages out the door. You can expect a series of detailed updates in the coming week(s). However, for now just ensure that the shipping address we have on file for you is correct.

You have 48 hours from the time of this update to log into your BackerKit survey and make any necessary changes to your address, at which point addresses will be locked and rewards will start shipping. If you have moved in the last year, or plan to move soon, it is especially important to make sure that your shipping address is correct, since we are not responsible for packages that are lost due to an error in your shipping address.

If you plan to move in the next 2 months, do not know your new address, or have other extenuating circumstances, please contact us directly to make special shipping arrangements using one of the methods below:

VTT Support

VTT Support is Here.

Virtual Tabletop Support is now available through your selected platform in the BackerKit Digital Downloads feature. Simply head over to your BackerKit Survey and locate your VTT reward. Depending on which platform you plan to use,  your module may be delivered in different ways. The platform-agnostic asset pack is ready to download immediately, and includes a setup guide with helpful tips for when you implement the assets into your platform of choice. Roll20 and Foundry must be claimed by using a "content key," which allows you to redeem the module form the platform of your choice directly. More information and instructions are available below, depending on your platform of choice.

 There are bound to be little setbacks and technical issues in the process of accessing and installing your  VTT. Feel free to send a message to me here on Kickstarter or to the customer service center of your VTT platform and we will work to resolve any issues as quickly as we can!

VTT Support Coming Soon!

VTT support was originally scheduled for release in December, but I have just received the go-ahead from our partnered platforms that we can begin fulfilling by Friday of next week. If you are receiving "VTT Support" as a reward, then you should have been prompted to select between Roll20, Foundry, or a Platform-Independent Asset Pack in your BackKit Survey. If you did not make this selection, or if you have recently changed which platform you use, please make sure that your selection is updated by Monday, October 9th.

Surveys are currently "Locked," so if you need to make a change to your selection, you will need to reach out to BackerKit Customer Service, or to me through Discord or by sending a message here on Kickstarter.

Production Update

Production Update

The last round of check-ins with our manufacturing partners shows that everything is proceeding on or ahead of schedule, and all rewards are expected to arrive on time according to our original estimates. If you have been reading my updates since the beginning of this project (and especially if you are a returning backer from the Adventurer's Guide), then you know how hesitant I can be to announce that fulfillment is running ahead of schedule. Projects like these are complex and a lot of the manufacturing process is out of our control. A setback in any stage of the manufacturing process can delay the fulfillment of the entire project by weeks or months; which is why we add two or three months to our estimated fulfillment timeline - to account for the very likely event of delays, setbacks, and mistakes.

All rewards are currently in the final stages of production, or else are already in transit to us (see: Progress Report), so at this point there is little reason not to communicate to you that we are planning to fulfill ahead of schedule. Our original Kickstarter promised fulfillment by February; our optimistic timeline had us fulfilling in December; and our current estimate looks like we'll begin shipping in November.  It always makes me nervous to officially move fulfillment dates up, but at this point there isn't a lot much left that could go wrong.

As a reminder, we cannot deliver your rewards until we have processed payment for your shipping fees. Please check your Backerkit Survey to ensure that your payment has processed, and update your credit card information if needed.

Speaking of fulfilling rewards ahead of schedule...

If you have purchased The Harrowing, this title is now available through the Digital Downloads feature of your Backerkit Survey. This reward was supposed to release tomorrow (October 1), but it looks like we got impatient and released it early. This is probably for the best, since it gives our GMs an extra day to plan before running it on Halloween!

A few of you have reached out to ask if it is still possible to add The Harrowing as a reward. As a reminder, The Harrowing is a "Kickstarter Exclusive," which means it will not be sold as a standalone product at the conclusion of this project; however, we decided to allow backers to purchase it through Backerkit, even if they didn't pledge the original Kickstarter. That means that this product is still available, but won't be for long.

All orders are currently "locked" as we draw near to fulfillment; however, if you want to add this reward to your order, just reach out to BackerKit customer service or else contact us through a message here on Kickstarter or on Discord and someone can help you add last minute purchases to your order.
