Where and when does this adventure take place?
The bulk of this adventure is set in the spiritual realm, as the adventurers are led through a series of visions and encounters that reveal both the violence of spiritual warfare as well as insights into the backstories of the characters themselves (think: “A Christmas Carol” meets cosmic horror). The player characters will also return to the material world briefly, but their journey will be sporadic and anachronistic, spanning a variety of encounters which range from the ancient past to modern times to a post-apocalyptic wasteland.

What stance does this module take on [insert issue here]
From the interpretation of the “millennium” to the identity of the Antichrist, there are no shortage of controversial topics and conflicting viewpoints in the book of Revelation. However, this adventure does not seek to take a deliberate stance on any of these issues, and the encounters are written in a way that makes specific interpretations irrelevant. The player characters will experience each encounter in much the same way that John did on Patmos: they will be led through the spiritual realm on a journey of the soul. Each encounter, from combat to social interaction to exploration, will be highly allegorical, and in the end this will be a story that is very personal to the player characters, rather than broadly applicable to the fate of the world. This is to say, although the player characters will experience all of your favorite scenes and monsters and events from the book of Revelation, they will be experiencing them in a way that symbolically reflects their own backstories, bonds, flaws, and ideals. This adventure is not about making broad predictions about future events; it is about the spiritual journeys of the player characters.

Is this a sequel to the Adventurer’s Guide to the Bible?
Both of these books are set in the world of the Biblical narrative, and both incorporate the same core assumptions and same monsters. Furthermore, while the Adventurer’s Guide to the Bible brought player characters from levels 1 - 10, Azrael’s Guide will carry player characters from 10 - 20. However, Azrael’s Guide is extremely different in terms of tone and structure. Where The Adventurer’s Guide to the Bible was a sprawling historical fantasy with a sandbox structure, Azrael’s Guide to the Apocalypse is a mind-bending cosmic horror journey with a more linear structure. There is no reason that you cannot play Azrael’s Guide as a sequel to the Adventurer’s Guide, but it may not necessarily fit the tone you had established for the first half of your campaign.

How does this adventure treat non-Christians?
Azrael’s Guide to the Apocalypse is based on a series of visions recorded in Revelation (the last book of the Christian Bible). The core assumptions of this adventure are fundamentally Christian, however, we also really want the modules we write to be accessible to everyone. There are no prerequisites to enjoy this adventure, and you do not need to be familiar with the biblical stories to understand what is happening. Furthermore, the purpose of this module is not to condemn (or imply condemnation) of any group of people based on their belief system. While this module does deal heavily with the concepts of spiritual warfare, faith, temptation, guilt, self-forgiveness, redemption, and the search for truth, we feel that these issues are not exclusive to christianity. This is a story about the player characters (for more on this, read “what stance does this module take…” above), and the journey they embark on together is one that anyone, of any faith, can fully appreciate and enjoy.

How does BackerKit work?
After the campaign ends, the project creator will send you an email with a unique link to your survey. You can check out a walkthrough of the process here.
I never received my invitation. How do I complete the survey?
The most common reasons for not receiving a survey email is that you may be checking an email inbox different from the email address you used to sign up with Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account, or it may be caught in your spam filter.
Confirm that the email address you are searching matches the email address tied to your Kickstarter, Indiegogo, or Tilt Pro account. If that doesn’t work, then try checking your spam, junk or promotions folders. You can also search for "backerkit” in your inbox.
To resend the survey to yourself, visit the project page and input the email address associated with your Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account.
How do I update my shipping address?
BackerKit allows you to update your shipping address until the shipping addresses are locked by the project creator. To update your address, go back to your BackerKit survey by inputting your email here.
When will my order be shipped, charged or locked?
That is handled directly by the project creator. BackerKit functions independently of the project itself, so we do not have control of their physical shipping timeline. If you want to check on the project’s status, we recommend reading over the project's updates page.
I completed the survey, but haven't received my rewards yet. When will they arrive?
As BackerKit does not actually handle any rewards or shipping, the best way to stay updated on the shipping timeline would be to check out the project's updates page.
